1. Cast directly or at a 45-degree angle into the wind. Fish will line the windward shore to feed on the drift.
  2. Use sinking lines. They’re heavier and therefore easier to cast through the wind and wave action won’t affect line control.
  3. Use a fast-action rod capable of increasing line speed to overpower the wind.
  4. Kneel or crouch to keep a low profile and cast a tight loop even utilizing a double haul to beat wind gusts.
