Heavily overcast skies and misting rain sent us and our Louisiana guest, Marc Pinsel, to a small pond not far from home. Big bluegills were cruising over open water. They totally ignored wet patterns but a switch to sponge spiders brought many to hand. Marc chose a 7-weight, 16-pound tippet and a large streamer that he stripped across a weed-covered hump. He caught one fish before the mist became a steady rain, but the largemouth bass measured 24 inches. It was a priceless day on the water!
