When warmer weather finally begins to warm the water and rains increase the streams’ volume, smallmouth bass will be on the move and so should anglers. Fan cast rock-studded pools, including their heads and tailouts then quickly move to the next pool. Studies show that most of the smallie population will move upstream from the deeper polls they occupied all winter. Be sure to release all of them so they can make the next generation of these remarkable gamefish.
