A week of extreme heat has changed our fisheries. Sunrise offers the coolest time of the day–it’s time to go out at first light and siesta after 1o am. Red/chartreuse Hula Diver in size 2 pulled under and then allowed to resurface accounted for constant action until the sun found the water. We cast into weed pocket, deadfalls, and under overhanging willow branches with 7-weights and floating line with 16-pound tippets. It may be hot, but why stop fishing?
