Crappies in the big lakes are located in small, shaded secondary coves suspended at 3 feet over 6 to 8-foot bottoms. White/silver Mini Minnies and light-colored woolly buggers resulted in great catches with many double hookups. When hits diminished we ran to the next cove with similar conditions.Five-weight outfits loaded with intermediate lines designed to sink at only 1 to 2 i.p.s. were most efficient but floating lines with extended tippets also worked well.
