Thought our string of unusually warm days might have smallmouths on the move, but I found 49-degree water at one of my favorite streams. Caught 1 smallie of 8 inches and a few longear sunfish. Enjoyed the day with my 5-weight Reddington Classic Trout rod loaded with Rio intermediate line that sinks at 1-2 i.p.s. That rod is soooo smooth and accurate with a small price tag. Check it out at your favorite fly shop! (Even the slow days get reported because we love getting out on the water with an excellent fly rod.)
