A tan size-2 Diving Frog resurfaced from a leg-kicking strip that provoked a wake-producing swirl. After several seconds of lying motionless, a subtle twitch resulted in a violent strike. The hookset sent the 13-inch smallmouth bass into a series of hed-shaking leaps. The shaded boulder-filled pool yielded 7 of the bronze bottle rockets in the last hour before sunset.
