A sunny 75-degree day quickly transitioned into a heavily overcast 53-degree afternoon with the river shrouded in fog. Thirty minutes of fruitless streamer casting led to downsized wet flies and a few missed strikes. Finally, an exaggerated strip replaced the lifted traditional lifted rod hookset and seven creek chubs were caught and released followed by an 8-inch smallmouth bass and two longear sunfish. An increasingly harsh north wind ended the trip.
