After weeks of snow flurries followed by brief encounters with warm temperatures FINALLY a break. A midday river trip brought a couple of smallmouths of 10 inches to hand along with a number of longear sunfish. All were in a slow, boulder-filled run and hit a size-12 Caddis Pupa. The evening was spent at a small pond. The widely-scattered bluegill population rose to a prolific midge hatch and took small soft hackle patterns.
