More rain led to an evening float tube pond trip with a 7 wt. and our weedless Diving Frog. I cast to the tops of the weed beds and crawled the fly to the edge before stipping them to dive and resurface. Often an explosion of weeds and a small tsunami of water resulted in a hookup. The size-2 olive pattern offered up visual thrills until a switch to the yellow frog at dusk enabled me to see the fly better. All the battling bass were released to fight again. I smiled all the way home.
