Cold, howling winds forced cancellation of my fishing plans and put me in my tying chair with a load of self-pity for a couple of days. After checking the contents of my vest I noticed flies needed to be replaced and added, fly lines were desperate for a good cleaning, and additional needs had to be addressed. Reels were cleaned and lubricated, rods were wiped clean, tools were re-evaluated, and two new lines and several tippet spools were ordered. OK, now I’m ready for a break in the weather. How about you? If your warmwater flies need upgrading, we invite you to take a look at our original flies here at www.thebluegillpond.com. If you’d like a book or two to facilitate your warmer weather daydreams, Crappie Fly Fishing: A Seasonal Approach and The Bluegill Diaries: A Fly Fishing Chronicle are available, too.
